IMCO-STAT Critical Results Management (CRM) is a unique product that is capable of securely and rapidly transferring information between devices when time is critical to patient care. IMCO-STAT is capable of sending reports including text, images, annotations, and voice messages to a variety of cross-platform devices such as workstations, laptops, PDAs, smart phones, pagers, and other wireless devices. STAT includes automatic receipt confirmation, an event log, and is compatible with existing PACS installations.

Within the healthcare environment there is critical information that must be sent and received quickly and securely. This information can include images, reports, annotations, voice clips, handwritten notes and other critical information. Since a smart phone or other wireless device can always be carried by the recipient, there is no lapse in communication and the recipient will always be aware of incoming STAT messages. By including support for wireless devices, IMCO-STAT goes beyond hard-wired PCs and fixed locations that have no guarantee that the message will be received immediately.

Patient safety is one of the primary goals of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Rule 2 of the JCAHO National Patient Safety Requirements deals with the effectiveness of communication among caregivers.
